Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the European Congress of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine,
which will be held in Portugal from October 20th-22nd, 2016.

Cascais, a sunny coastal town 30 km away from Lisbon, will be hosting the meeting. The event results from cooperation between 4 organisations working towards similar goals regarding animal behaviour and welfare:

  • European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine (ECAWBM)

  • Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law Veterinary Association (AWSELVA)

  • European Society of Veterinary Clinical Ethology (ESVCE)

  • Portuguese Association of Animal Behaviour Therapy and Welfare (PsiAnimal)

The Congress aims to bring together individuals and organisations working in the fields of animal welfare science, ethics and law and veterinary behavioural medicine. It provides a unique opportunity for meeting and networking with a diverse range of experts, academics and professionals from all over the world, and for information sharing and learning about the most recent research developments. The programme includes plenary lectures by world-renowned speakers as well as peer-reviewed oral and poster presentations. This year Dr. Alain Boissy and Dr. Freda Scott-Park will be our guest keynote speakers.

We hope to receive many abstracts to present results from studies and research from all over the world.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Cascais, Portugal at what promises to be a most stimulating and enjoyable event!
